President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Muhammad Babangida, son of former military President Ibrahim Babangida, as the new chairman of the restructured Bank of Agriculture.
The appointment was announced on Friday alongside those of seven other prominent Nigerians who will serve as chairpersons and directors-general of various federal agencies. The move is part of the administration’s broader efforts to reposition key institutions for national development.
Babangida, 53, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Relations and Business Communication from the European University in Montreux, Switzerland. He also completed the Executive Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.

The announcement was made via a statement issued by presidential media aide, Bayo Onanuga.
These appointments come amid growing calls for reform and efficiency across government agencies, particularly those involved in economic development, trade, and resource management. The newly appointed officials are expected to bring fresh leadership and drive to their respective institutions.
