Prince Gbadebo Adesemowo Invested as Grand Patron of African Church Ijebu North Diocese

The Baba Ijo of St. Thomas African Church, Obada, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, Omooba Gbadebo Adesemowo, has been invested as the Grand Patron of Ijebu North Diocese.
The investiture ceremony took place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, hosted by St. Thomas African Church, Obada, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, during the 2026 Diocesan Harvest celebration.
The colourful ceremony was performed by the Diocesan, The Most Rev. Dr. G. T. Adebanjo, who formally invested Prince Adesemowo with the new title.
Prince Gbadebo Adesemowo, a respected member of the church, previously served as the Vice Lay President of Ijebu North Diocese. His new appointment is seen as recognition of his service, commitment and contributions to the growth of the church and the Diocese.
Members of St. Thomas African Church expressed their joy and congratulated their Baba Ijo on the milestone, praying that God would continue to strengthen him and grant him greater wisdom and grace in his new role.
The church members also gave glory, honour and adoration to Almighty God for preserving lives and making the occasion possible.
The event attracted church leaders, members, family, friends and well-wishers, who joined in celebrating the investiture and the 2026 Diocesan Harvest.
The celebration ended with prayers and thanksgiving to God for the new office and for the continued growth of Ijebu North Diocese.
